Where would you go to find safety in a catastrophe? Would you be able to survive a long cold winter? Would you band together with strangers or only share your resources with family?

With their quest to reunite with their children over, George and Florence set their sights on finding a safe place to finally rest. As the fall approaches and the days become colder they must decide whether to hunker down in place or seek protection in a more forgiving climate. Along with their dog Moose and Gordon, their ASL speaking friend, they band together with a growing list of survivors to find a sustainable, long-term solution to their safety.

The adventures of Dark Trail conclude in Dark Highways.

Reviews

A gripping addition to the post-apocalyptic genre, offering a unique blend of adventure, suspense, and emotional depth. As an avid reader of fiction, I found this novel to be both engaging and thought-provoking, particularly in its exploration of survival and human resilience. The author’s clever use of ASL in the storyline and the realistic scenes from the Rideau Trail provided a fresh perspective in a well-trodden genre.

Praise for the Author

This dystopian adventure continues with equal intensity and suspense. The story explores the dark potential of human nature faced with the collapse of authority, but it also celebrates resilience, resourcefulness, loyalty and courage. And it's a page-turner that left me wanting more!
